One night was not enough! I planned a day trip to take my children but wanted to extend our Rotto experience and was lucky enough to find a vacancy for us at Discovery Resorts. I was very reluctant to check out after one fabulous night!||We …
Really wild place to escape Perth and relax! I highly recommend it. Very clean and feels like a high level hotel I’m definitely booking again soon. Staff were very friendly and professional and the breakfast is first class everything tasted perfect. I left feeling much more relaxed then a trip overseas didn’t need to catch a plane home which was amazing. 👌
The staff, facilities and accommodation were all absolutely fantastic. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a free upgrade upon check in and this absolutely made our week! It was completely unexpected but we were so grateful and loved the deluxe tent we were moved in to. 10/10 will recommend and we will 100% be back again! Thank you all for your hospitality and generosity.
This our fourth stay at discovery and unfortunately it keeps getting worse.
I love the place so much I just wish they'd give it a really good clean up.
The tents had so much dust attached to the inside walls my son's allergy was sparked up immediately, he only suffered when he was in the tent.
There is mould growing in yjd bathrooms, dirty floors even the linen this time seemed a bit under par.
The breakfast was missing my favourite part, the hash browns. Gone.
The breakfast area is grose. (Even the kitchen from the window looks really dirty)
The pool is grose.
The pool chairs are even groser. And I stood at the bar numerous times just to collect a towel and was there for 5 minutes waiting while the girl chopped a lemon.
Thinking we may need to only come back again once they have given the place a deep clean so it gets its sparkle back again. And maybe train their staff in food customer service to reflect the price we pay.
Glamping tent great! No TV but in the deluxe tent we had a view of the water. Pinky’s Beach with Bathurst Lighthouse was lovely but the ocean water was cold. The restaurant does not open until summer. Pinky’s cafe had limited & expensive …
Accommodation average. Beds comfortable and well equipped. Restaurant and catering facilities not big or staffed enough to cater for all customers. Breakfast was good but room not big and was forced to eat outside with the seagulls. Ordered a meal on the last night which was disappointing and cold. BBQ was cut short due to weather (slight wind) and staff shortages, which was equally disappointing. Would never stay there again.
You are here to see the quokka. Not for the service. It was interesting. The staff is a mixture of super nice and helpful (the food service people at pinky's, were great), but the front desk people are... less so. Sadly this place also seems to have branded itself as a party location. Not sure why, but people come here more to party and drink than anything else. The tents are great, clean, and very nice.

Friday 22/9/23
This review is for a Friday 5pm meal, cannot comment on other times/ periods.
Be prepared to share your overpriced and long awaited meal with seagulls. Very long wait for overcooked meals (overcooked franks wings, and heavily over fried fish and chips for kids, although the kids did mention the tomato sauce was yummy), only to be partially if not completely taxed by seagulls on collection (seriously need to look into some sort of bird control/ deterrent), to then wait again for replacement. Then when you request the salad you ordered for your earlier consumed meal to be takeaway because it’s been over an hour after you’ve received your meal, they (kitchen staff) get feisty, serious? It’s a salad, how does that take over an hour?! Waste of time and money, seriously go anywhere else. Really. Unless for a casual lunch/ sundown wine/ beers.
View is nice though! Then again anywhere in Rottnest is.
Service = 1 star for kitchen staff, or at least the current chef/team in the outside area, bar staff very good and helpful, full credits there.
Atmosphere is great, but the seagulls WILL ruin the occasion.
Based on our room.
Patches of Mould in the bathroom
Screens could do with a clean on tent flies.
Super expensive for what they are.
They do need some maintenance done on and around they property
Look it is a lovely spot but just not worth the $$$$
